4. It's All Good! [First week]

[Note: I've been writing this blog for the past week now... a lot has happened.]

Been here for fiiive days now. Since the last post, have massively gotten over being homesick. Meeting people has been ridiculously easy. I hate introducing myself to people, but people introduce themselves all the time. Super friendly.

So the first night I was out (Monday), there was a High School Musical themed party.... that I reluctantly attended. If I hadn't had 2 pints of beer in me at the time, it might not have happened. Anyways, theeese people.....LOVE their pop music. To give you an idea of what was played at this "club," these songs were played: Toxic, Spice Girls, TWO HSM songs (yeah, I couldn't believe this was a college party either..). All ridiculously old pop music only tweens and adults at karaokes listen to.

These were buddies I made earlier in the day + some collected throughout the night.

'Twas fun.

Here are just some random pics:

Street.

Elephant House -- coffee shop/cafe where J.K. Rowl
ing started writing HP! [I live really close to it!]

Mint Aero -- bubbly chocolate. Tastes like mint chocolate chip ice cream! :)

Edinburgh ZOO -- known for penguins! Had 204 of them there.. cuute. Except the one on the bottom..

I was also freakishly close to a tiger. Beautiful.

Took a weekend trip to Inverness/Loch Ness (Northern Scotland) this weekend. Will post pictures in the next blog!

Until who knows when...

3. Day One!

Got in at 10am (here time), forgot to sleep on the plane, decided I couldn't take it at 7:30pm and called it a night, woke up at 11pm wide awake. fml. Soo here I am.. I didn't want to make a post yet without a picture but I had a lot of thoughts on today.

Scotland is exactly as I had imagined it. There's SO much green and scenery. I live near the Edinburgh Castle and the University. Didn't do much today, but walked around and just as you would expect, saw plenty of men in kilts and constantly heard bagpipes coming from an unknown source. Also ran into my first Scottish street show---man plays with fire. The city seems so lively. I like it. Things aren't as expensive here as I thought they'd be.

Met some flatmates today. I have my own room! Share a kitchen and living room. Might go to Oktober Fest in 2 weeks!

I have to admit, I am homesick. Mommy sick.
Don't get me wrong, VERY EXCITED to finally be here. Scotland has been in my plans since my senior year of HS.. however, the only comfort my soul has right now is knowing that the same God is sovereign here as well... annnnd calling my family more in one day than I ever have in my life.

Pictures next post! Promise!

2. Last weekend

Listening to: "She's Got You High" - Mumm Ra

Spent last Wednesday to Monday in Austin/Dallas. Last weekend of fun before leaving for Scotland. My intent at the beginning of the trip was to take lots of pictures.. you know, make my own memories. This was the only picture taken the entire 5 days:

Sarah Chen. She looks unamused here, but she was pretty amused with me the entire night on 6th. It was a goood night! Right, Sarah?!

Anyways, played in my last football tournament of 2009 in Arlington. 'twas fun. No more football for me. Only futbol.

Leaving in 3 days.. 9/11 ftw! Gotta pack! And finish watching gossip girl....

[SYTYCD Fall season premieres this week!]

Until next time.. xoxo,

1. Pre-game

This is my attempt at blogging about Edinburgh whilst I'm away...
[Get the theme? Beers N' Cheers? Kalink? The sound of beer glasses klinking? No? Alright.]

However, I mainly just wanted my first post to share the creepiest photo I've ever seen on the internet. This man...

...who's made the mistake of randomly choosing me to befriendst on Facebook. [Mistake... as I am blogging about it] I actually don't have too much to say about it, but it wins Creepiest Photo Of All Time hands down. The scary thing is I looked at this guy's profile and he actually has a decent career, albeit I think he's divorced and seeking vulnerable and willing youth on social networks. But look at him, he looks like he's on the prowl.

Anyways, leaving for Scotland in 11 days! Suuuper excited. Leave advice if you've got any.

September 11th... wish me luck?

1st sign off.. Cheers! [It'll get better when I get there and learn how to say 'goodbye' or 'until next time' in Scottish.]
