6. Random thoughts

This is risky information I am about to publish for all to see, but I don't think anything of it so whatevs. I just looked for my razor and shaving cream for the first time since I've been here and realized it's not there. Realistically, I would probably only shave once here anyways, so I think there will be no shaving for me my entire time in Edinburgh. Too bad I'm not in France. Ha.

I practice with the Edinburgh women's basketball team. It's the official school team. They're not very good. I'm pretty sure I'm better than all of them and I play in running shoes that make me work extra hard. It's fun though. And free. Nothing is free here. I cycle almost everyday, but every time I go to basketball practice, I am reminded how out of shape I am.

I've decided to put accounting 2nd behind interning for Ellen Degeneres. This will be quite a long process. There's an actual essay topic and cover letter I have to write and send in. I'm also in the process of writing a song for Ellen and hopefully convincing some nice boys to help me make it into a kickass video when I'm back in Austin. Going to AMSTERDAM/BRUSSELS this weekend!!! Can't wait to see S.Ven and Velma! Ahh familiar faces.. I don't think they read this, so I'll just say it. I want to convince them to sm_k_ with me [hint: buy 2 vowels]. It should make Halloween quite the experience. I've never been a fan of the holiday though. Hope there's candy involved.

Sat in a restaurant/sports bar for about 6 hours last weekend watching the Texas/OU game.. didn't think I had it in me. I usually don't even watch the game at home if other people don't have it on...

OH YEAH. While in Glasgow watching the football game, that guy Evan had a friend in his dorm who drank beer through his eye. We made him do it because Evan told us he took a shot of vodka in his eye before. Scots so cuuraazzaayyy.

I hate CitiCards. And registration.

5. I miss...

1.) FOOTBALL.

2.) Basketball. You have to PAY to rent a court here to play.. on top of the gym membership I already paid for. That upset me, so I just stole the ball from the gym... not that I have anywhere to play or anyone to play with.

3.) [This one took me by surprise.] Asian people. I never had a lot of asian friends until college, but I guess the past 3 years have taught me the comfort of seeing an asian face. Sometimes I just wanna talk to fobs. My best attempt so far has led me to some Singaporeans and HK'ers. Not bad.

4.) [Mom, Dad, I know you read this... ] My family!

5.) Texting on a real phone instead of my £10 phone that I can't seem to convert to T9, so I'm doin it old schoool.

6.) I miss playing drinking games with people I've known longer than 3 weeks.. I wanna go to your going-away party Sam!!

7.) My f.r.i.e.n.d.s. Always.

8.) Saying "yall" and not being judged, mocked, or made fun of. There is no alternative for that word!!!

9.) I miss[ed] Bon Iver!!!!!! Justin Vernon, please come back when I am back.

10.) ...you? [Had to make it 10.]

Things I don't miss --- actually studying and Austin tap water [Scotland has some of the best in the world!].
